There is a similar incident in which an attempt was made to hide a mountain, but it came in front of everyone’s eyes. This mountain still exists in Shikotsu-Toya National Park in Hokkaido Island, which is called Showa Shinzan.

On December 28, 1943, a strange mountain formed in a wheat field in Japan. Which started increasing slowly. This volcano named Shōwa-shinzan is about 400 meters high. At first the Japanese authorities tried to hide it because it was the time between the Second World War. They did not want this news to spread or any superstitious belief to be accepted on it. However, a postmaster named Masao Mimatsu took notice of it and did a thorough study on it and presented it at the international level and this mountain came into everyone’s sight.

When Masao Mimatsu saw this mountain named Showa Shinzan, he made a chart of it and wrote down the speed of growth of the mountain in it. He showed the process of mountain formation only through sketches and presented it at the World Volcano Conference in 1948. His papers here were called Mimatsu Diagrams and he was also given an award for it. Mimatsu bought this place by investing all his capital just for research and became its owner. Later the Japanese government declared it a natural monument and a statue of Mimatsu was also built here.
